Main functional components and working principle of horizontal sand mill:
  1. Mechanical seal: Single-end mechanical seals or double-end cartridge mechanical seals can be chosen.
  2. Dispersing shaft assembly: The dispersing shaft is equipped with specially designed dispersing discs, which are fixed to the shaft using bushes, pressure covers, spring washers, and hexagon socket screws. When assembling the dispersing discs onto the dispersing shaft, attention should be paid to the rotation direction and mating assembly to ensure continuous dispersion and achieve the desired effect.
  3. Grinding cylinder: The inner sleeve of the sand mill's cylinder is made of special steel. The inner sleeve of the cylinder adopts a spiral cooling device at both ends, which has a better cooling effect than a direct-current type. It also adopts a replaceable design, so after wear and tear, it can be used like new by simply replacing the inner sleeve.
  4. Explosion-proof pressure controller and temperature gauge: The WMS series sand mill is equipped with an explosion-proof (ordinary) pressure controller at the inlet, with an adjustable pressure control range that can be adjusted to an appropriate level as needed (--0.1 MPa). A temperature gauge is installed at the outlet to observe the discharge temperature. The pressure transmission of the explosion-proof pressure controller is hydraulic: one side of the capsule and the pressure controller (with a display gauge) are filled with oil. When the diaphragm moves, it compresses the oil, causing the pressure gauge's spring tube to deform and indicate the pressure. According to the transmission principle, the pressure on both ends of the diaphragm is equal, so the pressure indicated on the pressure gauge is also the pressure inside the cylinder.
  5. Feed Pump: The WMS series sand mill utilizes a pneumatic double diaphragm fluid transfer pump. Alternatively, it can be equipped with the RBZ series internal circular gear pump, which features a unique structure, low noise, minimal leakage, and excellent performance in conveying viscous materials.
  6. Machine body: The machine body is a steel welded structure that fixes and supports components such as the main unit, feed pump, shell, and electrical box. It is stable, reliable, and compact in structure. Four adjustable shock mounts are installed at the bottom of the machine body to ensure the levelness of the entire machine.
  7. Electrical system: The electrical system of the sand mill consists of the main circuit, control circuit, lighting indicator, auxiliary circuit, etc
  8. Control procedure: If either the main motor or the pump is disconnected due to overload, it will automatically stop. If the pump fails to operate, the main motor cannot be started, but it can be jogged.
  9. Operating principle The pneumatic double diaphragm pump inputs the solid/liquid mixture, which has undergone pre-dispersed wetting treatment, into the cylinder, where it is agitated by the high-speed rotating dispersing disc together with the grinding media inside the cylinder. This agitation creates intense shear between the solid particles and the grinding media in the material, achieving the purpose of grinding fine particles and dispersing aggregates. The ground material is discharged through a dynamic separator.
